Parmesan & Paint...Italy 2018

'I have just returned from a week at Casa Bezzia on a painting holiday.
It has been a wonderful week. Sylvia our hostess has given us a truly authentic Bardi experience. I found myself waking up each morning excited for the day ahead, everyday was different. Sylvia with her local knowledge organised visits to the parmesan cheese farm, an Italian cookery demo evening at her home, and picked some great local restuarants for some of our meals out. Eating out was very traditional, not many tourists in this area. A highlight had to be the surprise lunch she brought up to the ruined village of Pianilello on top of a mountain, we dined with amazing views, a feast to remember! We were a great group and got on so well, I have not laughed as much for while!
Casa Bezzia is comfortable and in a peaceful and beautiful location, opening the shutters in the morning was a treat to enjoy the mountain views. The studio is well equipped and light and I enjoyed browsing through some of her art books.
Karen our teacher took us to some beautiful painting locations each day, she demonstrated techniques and was always on hand to answer questions and offer a little encouragement if needed. I feel I have grown in confidence with my drawing, my use of colour and I have freed up…..a work in progress!
It was my first painting holiday and I went on my own, I did not know what to expect. It exceeded my expectations, I had a wonderful time, thank you Sylvia and Karen, and my fellow painting friends. That was a special week!'

NORWAY - Art Safari

What an extraordinary trip, and what an exceptional guide tutor you were. I can't thank you enough, so glad I came. I have learnt so much. Real life hasn't kicked in yet - I was finishing off my silver birches in bed last night at 1.30pm! See you on another expedition soon ... Thank you, thank you......Lynne (Norway 2016)
Absolutely fabulous painting holiday we had and we had the most wonderful Aurora Borealis outside our cabin or just watch sitting on our bed!!
Agree with Lynne, we can't thank Karen enough, looking after all of us, all the walks, sketches, demos, tutorials, arranging reindeer sledding, whale watching, and hot porridge on the breakfast table when we get up every morning!!
This is my second Art Safari trip with Karen, I am looking forward to many more 😃......Katherine (Norway 2016)

Thank you, Karen, for giving us a lovely holiday! It is one of the best I have had! I enjoyed it so much. Thank you for looking after us all so well. I felt very safe with you. I have also learnt a lot from you about Water colour and sketching and art in general. I am definitely interested, as I said, in coming to Norway with you in September 2019, if you are going then!?....Janet (Norway 2018)
